The UPS Store Supports Shop Small Saturday

Take the Shop Small Challenge

Shopping small can mean something really big. In 2010, the Shop Small® Movement was created to help support small businesses and the communities they live in. As a holiday shopping counterpart to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Shop Small Saturday encourages holiday shoppers to patronize local, small brick and mortar businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Officially recognized by the U.S. Senate in 2011, Small Business Saturday is now recognized by 67 percent of consumers and there is an estimated $5.5 billion spent on this day!

Like the Shop Small Movement, The UPS Store is committed to supporting small businesses in our local communities. We know firsthand the kinds of challenges small business owners face, and our goal is to make it easier for small business owners to run their day-to-day operations.

In honor of Small Business Saturday, we’re challenging holiday shoppers to “shop small” on Small Business Saturday®, and all season long.  And, we’re reminding small business owners that we’re here to support them during this busy time of year.  We’re profiling some of the inspiring small businesses we work with, who provide plenty of reasons for their customers to “shop small.” Take a look at the first profile and check the blog every week in November for more.

If you “shop small” in your local community, or have had a great experience “shopping small,” let us know. Share your “shop small” experience socially using the #iheartsmallbiz hashtag.
