How I can help you

Operations, business plans, project management, and software implementations present challenges I can help you overcome.  At public companies, I built the products customers wanted to buy, achieving the numbers over 100 quarters!  This required finding quality suppliers, securing cost reductions, and calculating purchase requirements.  Let me help nurture your plans from inception into stable self-sufficiency.  I encourage improvements via a crawl/walk/run approach- get something done, do it better next time, and keep learning.  Learning can be sustained by studying problems with experts, documenting action items, collaboratively identifying solutions, creating checklists to sustain new methods, and finally embedding these methods into software tools whenever practical.

My experience has been at high-tech startups or multinational firms; job titles were mainly in Operations.  I recently retired from NVIDIA, where I led production planning, material planning, supply commits, warehouses, freight, and service support.  Previously I led Operations at a smaller public company and was the first Operations employee at another company that subsequently went public.  I thrived utilizing an outsourced model with Asian and North American suppliers.  Throughout my career I actively directed software tool improvements and led an IT department en route to that company’s IPO.  Hands-on experience includes writing software for Sales forecasts, Operations schedules, R&D projects, and Finance applications.   At three companies I guided significant software implementations and taught Information Technology courses at several Boston colleges.

How I can help you

I offer clients go-to-market strategy, experience design, operations, process improvement, and sales expertise.  I'm a creative by nature and a senior retailer by trade.

During my 20 years in the business world, I've provided multi store operations, national sales, franchising, program management, account, and brand leadership for direct-to-consumer (DTC) and business-to-business (B2B) companies.  I'm well versed in the Outdoor (Eastern Mountain Sports, Sierra/TJX, etc.), Hospitality/Ski (Omni Resorts/Bretton Woods), Apparel (Life is Good), and Banking (Comerica, Synovus, Origin, etc.) verticals.

I've supported non-profit, private, and public organizations of all sizes identify, acquire, retain, deepen and expand their customer base.  As a recent experience design agency director, I advised clients like Comerica Bank how to redistribute and modernize its branch operating models for optimal customer relevancy.  Prior to that, I revamped the stores franchise program for Life is Good by removing startup costs, retrained store owners and staff, implementing faster selling high-margin product, and driving foot traffic through corporate e-commerce and social marketing changes.  As a district manager for EMS, I was heavily involved with events marketing, community outreach, and omnichannel operations during its merger with two other retailers.

My parents are successful entrepreneurs who got a leg-up from a SCORE mentor many years ago.  I'd like to pay it forward, as they say.  Let's get started.
